ArtsFems was founded in 2013 by two 1st year students, Rosie Rynn O’Shea and Rebecca Livesey-Wright. The Society was formed as a means to explore our interests in feminism and to provide a platform for other students to get together and discuss with us. We aim to be an open, inclusive society and welcome members from all backgrounds.
With an emphasis on developing a strong social network, the Society has organised a host of events including, most recently our first exhibition A Voice of One’s Own, as well as an up-coming panel discussion titled Women Behind Art at Housman’s bookshop. We have also organised film screenings, a comedy night in conjunction with the Rape is No Joke campaign and have organised a group visit to see the Gut Girls play.
